Why do I need to

Sign in / remain signed in . just to Read this forum ?.

I don't go on many sites , is this normal / new ?.

No one needs to pay more if they do not want to do so. To the OP I understand that you feel it's wrong and don't like the fact that Microsoft requires a Gold account to use these items. With that in mind it is solely up to Microsoft to pick what they feel
they will allow on a Gold account versus a Silver. It is then up to each customer to pick what service they like too use. Sure some places may offer the items for free with their product but at the same time may not offer other things. Bottom line is this
is a business that provides the LIVE service for us. They are here to make money and if the money I pay goes towards other items down the road for me then I am ok with that. If the day comes that I do not want to pay a fee for the items I will not. At the
same time "they" are not making you pay to use something you already pay for. That is your choice by using your Xbox to access the other service you payed for. You have the option to use other means to use it and Microsoft knows this.

[/quote] Almost as much as this holier than thou statement? These services are free to use on any other platform and dont require you to have to pay a third party to be able to carry on enjoying them once you have purchased your subscription with the said
service. You sound like you have the answer as to why this differs on the Xbox so please, show us the error of our ways O'Microsoft worshipper. Why can we not complain about your beloved Microsoft taking the pee our of their customers and why does this make
us so "righteous in our self-entitlement"? I'd love to hear it, do share. After being here a while I'm starting to realise why you chose the screen name you did to be honest.

^ correct. You do not need to be signed in to view/read these forums. However if you want to post, you do need to be signed in.

 

from today it has been having me sign in just to visit here too, never needed to before though

 

Heyo all! We've noticed this as well and we're investigating it as I type this.

It doesn't affect the functionality of the forums once you're signed in, but I fully recognize that it could be an inconvenience to anyone wants to view them without signing in.

I'll give a shout when I have some updates to share. Thanks everyone for your patience while we go all Sherlock on this! =)

 

Was wondering why it asked me to sign-in when trying to access the forums on my Icon (Opera browser.). On P.C. I'm automatically signed in.

I'm pretty sure that I've had to sign just to view the forums ever since the general discussion forum got relocated to hardware and services.

 

Fixed, thanks to the support staff , for the speedy response and resolution.

Lol I sign in every time since I've started using the forum even if it's a few times a day. I don't like leaving myself signed in even at home. I always sign out when I done.
