why do i keep getting Renewal Notification for Gold – 3 Month when it was canceled.

If you haven't renewed your Xbox Live Gold subscription you may receive promotional emails to invite you back. How often are you receiving renewal notifications?

Hi CrazyDDawg you account when you sign up for xbox live will tell you that the account will be set on an auto renewal right from the start you also get an email stating the same facts as well. If you sign up for a promotion its always good to double check
your transaction so that you know for sure you are charge correctly. You will also get a notification that your account is set to auto renew when the times comes around. each time it renews you get a notification. I would check your emails spam, and verify
that your email is set correctly so you can get the notifications. If you need to cancel your auto renewal can do so on xbox.com or at account.microsoft.com

To stop automatically renewing your subscription, but keep using it until it expires:

1.Sign in to your services and subscriptions page with your Microsoft account.

2.Find the subscription you want to stop renewing, then select Turn off auto-renew.

3.Select Confirm cancellation.

please keep in mind that you will need to cancel the auto renewal before your renewal date is set if you cancel the auto renewal after your new renewal you could be charged for the following month

Keep in mind if you had gold and adding ultimate that time was upgraded

If you canceled instead of turning autorenewal you forfeited the gold time and would only get the 1-3 month of ultimate you purchased this is why it warns you when you bought it that upgraded time will be lost upon cancellation

I tried to cancel the auto renewal, but I still received a email that said my account had been renewed for 1 month of Gold.

When I log into my Microsoft account on the computer is shows a recent order of Gold - 1 month on 12/10/15 with my credit card number.

Can this get activated? Or was it in fact cancelled?
