Why Do I Have To Reset My Console?

Why do I have to reset my console completely to get any games to update.

Shouldn't they automatically check for updates when I am launching them? This is a very poor system.

Why Do I Have to Have Strangers in my games?

They have obviously built the game around a social MMO type feel yet they have made it extremely difficult to find people to do the PvE parts of the game.

The people on friends list always seem to be higher or lower than me level wise so I've played the first 7 levels solo which is becoming mind numbingly boring considering the lack of effort put into the level design and the need to throw wave after wave
of mobs at you.

Apparently no one at Bungie has played a MMO.

I think if you get a significant amount of hits in you still get experience for the enemy kill. Pretty sure I got exp even after someone else killed the guy I was shooting. And like Eggnogga said you don't hear anyone who isn't in your fireteam, I'm not
even sure party chat works in Destiny if your not on a fireteam. Also don't think there is friendly fire, not 100% sure but during the beta playing with a friend I don't remember having to worry about where me grenades or nova bombs were going.

 

If your settings under system are turned on, then it will automatically check fir updates any apply them while in standby....if an update hits while youre playing it wont stop you and update unless its mandatory.

What are your settings?

do you have checked "Automatically download updates and purchases" under power options?

 

Yes I do.

See, the thing is, the update for the game did not take place until i did a hard reset by holding the power button for 10 seconds.

The game was not in progress and was closed at the time.

 

When did the update go pubkic in your region?

 

A few hours before I tried updating.

 

That's normal...your likely not to get an update during or just before a busy time of the day.

 

Well, this isn't the only case, it seems if I want to check for updates on my game i have to do a hard reboot.

 

Just had to hard reset my xbox one (holding the power button down for 10seconds) in order to update another game (Halo Master Chief Collection)

 

So you're saying when you launch the game there is not a prompt?

Then how did you know the update was available?

 

If I launch the game there is not a prompt, if I restart the console by holding the power button off for 10seconds and launch it, then I get the prompt.

So the whole problem is, why do I need to reset my entire console everytime to know if there is an update.

 

Hmmm good question, that's not right....

 

Any one else have this problem, or thoughts about it?
