Why do I have to reinstall game while offline

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums with this question. If you did attempt to update your game via your wifi hotspot on your phone, but chose to cancel it, then it would have removed the game from your console so as to avoid any file corruption;
hence, the complete reinstallation and amount of space.

If you'd like to continue to play the game, especially in offline mode, then it would be recommended that you go ahead, go online and update the game, after which, you can then go back to offline mode if you choose to.

Usually from personal experience, I have to update the game that is causing the issue before I go offline to play to game or do a complete re-install of the game after you select the 'Go Offline' option in the settings.

As for what is actually happening with the Xbox showing more storage then you had after going into offline mode, I'm not 100% sure. I'm guessing you do not have access to a router that has an active internet connection so what I would do in that situation
is, again, just do a complete re-install then go offline and the game should play without having to install an update.

As for AC:O, there's free bonus content (Final Fantasy XIV sword, mount and shield) that you're missing out on if you do not download the patches so it's definitely worth trying to establish an internet connection.

Getting disconnected from xbox live while playing a game and wanted to know why it's doing this every single day.Can I still play a game while being offline.

First, try playing offline just sign in while playing if that doesn't work I would uninstall the game and then reinstall the Game

That didn’t do anything but I did find out that in order to play a game while the Xbox is in offline mode I have to start the game while online and then it will work offline
