Why do I have to purchase Minecraft again under the same Microsoft account that originally...

I have been contact with Minecraft support for possibilities to recover my Minecraft account. They mentioned my Minecraft account is associated with my original Microsoft account. Not the newly reopened account, even I used the same email address for reopened Microsoft account. In this case, what should I do? Can you help me associate or link my newly reopened account to my original account which the hacker deleted? If not, does it mean all my purchase with my original Microsoft account will be lost?

This does not answer the orignal question, this simply offers a way to reset the password. The problem is that the users original Gamertag is no longer associated with the email address that was used to purchase Minecraft, and a new Gamertag was created and assigned to that same email. The user wants to use their original Gamertag and therefore have access to their purchased Minecraft.

I am having this same issue. My Microsoft account did not recognize my Gamertag, I was asked to create a new one. Now when I logon I only see the new Gamertag, and I do not get credit for purchasing Minecraft, therefore I'm being promtped to buy it again. I would like my Gamertag (which was successfuly migrated in April 2021) to be associated with my Microsoft account email. THIS is the issue I think the original post refers to.

Other Minecraft players reported a similar issue as well. I just want to clarify, are you able to check and locate the Minecraft game license under your Microsoft account's order history?

If you haven't tried it yet, here's how to check it:

Kindly sign in to all of your Microsoft email accounts on account.microsoft.com > payment and billing > order history > select the date of range when you purchased your Minecraft Java Edition game. If you have found the transactions, use the same Microsoft account to login to Minecraft Launcher.

If you're unable to find the Minecraft game transaction, it means that the Minecraft game license was not originally purchased under the account you are using. You need to find the Microsoft account where you have the purchased game.

The only best option is to check your other Microsoft email accounts' order history and locate the order transaction for the game.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your Microsoft/Minecraft account being compromised.

I'm glad you're able to recover your original email address however you will need to confirm if it is the same account where your Minecraft was purchased and migrated to by signing in to the account on account.microsoft.com > payment and billing > order history > select the date of range when you purchased your Minecraft.

If the Minecraft transaction is not showing up under your Order history, this means that this is not the Microsoft account where you have linked your Minecraft account.

You will need to find the Microsoft account where you have purchased the game in order to regain access to your Minecraft account.

Same issue here. If I log into Minecraft on my Nintendo switch under my Nintendo account, I can see the DLC. But it will not sync over to my Microsoft account to be able to play on different devices.

Has anyone had luck syncing purchases made with a Nintendo account to a Microsoft account in Minecraft marketplace?
