Why do I have to keep resetting password with every sign in?

Sorry to hear about what happened. It's possible an issue with his profile. I would suggest to re-add his profile to correct any issue.

Note: Before doing these steps, please make sure that you know exactly the email address linked with your gamertag and the password to it so you can add the correct account again.

1. Remove account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm. When you're finished, select Close.

2. Power cycle:
Press and hold Xbox's power button for 10 sec. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

3. Add account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select Add new.

Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.

Why would I need to reset my password? It work every where else. I can sign into any of my micsoft accounts.

Is Two-factor Authentication enabled on your account? Sometimes, problems with 2FA can lead to repeated sign-in prompts or cause the sign-in process to reset.

Try reinstalling the app. Try a different device and see if it gives you the same issue.

This happens every couple of days to me. I do a reset and it's fixed. My question is why does it keep happening?

I'm having the same issue on my Series S. I've done the power reset and console reset, but the problem keeps happening. The only way to sign in is to remove my account then add it again to sign in that way. But it's getting to the point were I have to do it every time I turn the console on.
