Why do I have to delete my email address just to transfer my xbox account?

The only way to "transfer" your Xbox account (which is a Microsoft account too) to another email is to add an alias (a new email address) to this Xbox account and then set it as the primary email address of the account.

You can't add an alias that is from another Microsoft Account, so if you have a Outlook email address and want to use it as your Xbox account Email address, you'll need to delete it, wait 60 days for it to be completely removed from Microsoft database and then add it as an alias to your current Xbox/Microsoft account (creating it on the alias page).

deleting and reusing the email account is dependent on which country/region you are in, in the EU and the UK once an email address or an alias is deleted it can never be used again due to privacy laws. this has been confirmed by Microsoft too.

because when you create a new email account it actually creates a microsoft account that has skype, xbox, email and so on already created, a microsoft account has all the services that microsoft supports in one, therefore you have to create a new email via the alias creation, then you can make it primary then remove the old email address.

You used to be able to easily change the address but that stopped well over 11 years ago when everything was merged into one account.

Also a word of warning, now you have already created the new address, even if you close it and delete it that address will never be available to use again due to privacy laws in various places around the world.

That happened to me when I went to transfer one of my accounts to a different email address so i can transfer my main account to that email address. Instead, it made a new account without me doing anything and named it a random name. Have you at least tried
to transfer juiceboxsamurai to the email address you want it to be linked to?

I never talked about merging accounts. All I was asking is whether a gamertag can be moved onto another account that does not have Xbox Live? For example can an Xbox Live gamertag profile be moved to a different email address from the present Microsoft
Account (email) and then be able to safely delete the Microsoft Email address without it erasing the Xbox/GFWL profile?

If that's not the case the system is pretty terrible. People are complaining on the video above that I posted that their Xbox Live profile was assigned to their mums/dads emails and they wanted to transfer it to their email, but they are saying this is not
possible and that it was only once possible on the Xbox 360. But since I don't have an Xbox 360 I don't know how else to transfer a gamertag profile into another email.

I would like to delete my live.co.uk email address due to email spams. There seems to be no way to individually delete that email address from the Microsoft Account without deleting the entire Microsoft account along with email, one drive, skype, etc. I will
obviously lose my Xbox/Games for Windows Live achievements, game licenses, etc.

I was asking whether there was a solution to this problem. Otherwise I will be permanently doomed between sacrificing my Xbox/GFWL profile over an email address being bombarded with email spams. Or alternatively I bite the bullet and delete everything. Obviously
I don't want to have to delete my entire Microsoft Account and start from scratch.
