    Why do games quit when watching tv?


    Lately it seems like when I pause a game I'm playing, and watch TV (through HDMI pass-through) for 10 minutes or more, when I go back to play my game it restarts from the title screen. This never happened before, but I have noticed it especially with Halo
    MCC (which was a real pain because Halo 4 didn't even save my checkpoints), and it just happened with Far Cry 4. I am playing single player campaigns in both games. In the past this never happened. Did an update cause this?

    I actually like making people leave. It is hilarious watching them backout when the field is stacked. Don't be mad, feel superior cause you are a boss.

    What is your problem?

    They are giving you the win and sometimes saving you time.

    I'd hate to see how angry you would get if you were glitched out of a win, like Fifa 11 used to have.

    If they leave.....you win....get over it.

    TV Signal Freezes

    Another option rather than doing the hard reset. When tv is in the main pane. Click on the menu button on the controller and select quit. The ask xbox watch tv which will restart the app.

    This is Impressive indeed but i play games not tv rubbish.

    What do you play your games on? A tv. Do you invest $500+ on a tv JUST to play games on? No you do not. You're going to have tv access either way, why not eliminate the need for two boxes just to watch tv and play games, when you can use just one?

    Just buy a TV and hook up your console, why do people need a TV that is better than HD to run a game? Not as if an ordinary TV can't handle it. Just buy a TV and watch it.

    Valid question... how do you fully "exit" a game or app?

    For the voice commands, I was able to quit the TV by the following.

    Started when watching full screen TV

    *Xbox, Go Home

    *Xbox, Show Menu

    *Quit

    I double-checked, and 'Xbox' is required for the menu. You can't just Go Home, Show Menu Quit
