Why do games, launched via the Xbox app keep crashing on launch

So I dont use the Xbox app much as I dont own any games on there and I usually play games on other platforms (steam, epic, orgigin). However if I get a free gamepass, pardon the pun, but hard to pass up so I go and install games that I see interesting or ones others are playing.

Recently I got 3 months of gamepass cause a game came out that is too pricy so GP is the way to go. The 1st day it worked fine, game launched, was perfect, but that what i get for not owning a gaming laptop/pc, but some time passed and I install another game, which then crashes with an error message from my graphics software. i try the other game, same thing, crash on launch. I then try another platform, steam, and the games launch without a problem. So I find the problem being the Xbox app.

Before determining it was the app, I posted in a game forum, and someone mentioned a lot of technical fixes, I pass so I wait. I go to try more games and again launch without issue like on day 1, but today it once again crashes. It has become an annoyance, especially since GP isnt lifetime, and this "one day it works, another day it doesnt" is gonna cause me to uninstall the app and stick to other platforms.

Anyone know any solutions, whether you ran into this or know something that doesnt require so much technical skills to accomplish?

Ive tried all the ones I have installed, all same outcome, "driver timeout" and only happens via Xbox games.

Hi, you said launch the game via the xbox app & also tried it with microsoft store, have you launch it simply via the windows start
menu? I had a similar problem with the Xbox app (there are two updates of that) and it allowed me to launch the game I was on at the moment.

I'm having exactly the same problem and unfortunately the game crashes instantly when launched from the start menu too.

It looks like there's not much of a solution currently.

Sadly these steps didn't help. Here is what I tried, but maybe I missed something:

- Repaired Xbox App via Control Panel

- Repaired Wolfenstein II via Control Panel

- Tried launching Wolfenstein II as Admin

- Tried launching Xbox App as Admin

- Tried launching it via Start Menu

- Tried launching it via Xbox App

- Tried launching via Microsoft Store

- Reinstalled the game

Is there anything I missed, or anything else I could try?
