Why do 2 different passwords work for the same Microsoft account?

I was trying to log onto Microsoft store with my x box account. I forgot my password and reset it but this Didn’t seem to reset it completely and now I have a separate password logging me in on my x box but for the same Microsoft account. On top of that it recognizes both accounts as having the same username but one is completely empty of achievements and games and the one on my x box is still the one I have been using for years. I just want to be able to download the games that I already have on my x box onto my pc with the same data that I used to have on my x box.
