Why did the extensions feature get removed from the first version of the New MS Edge...

Some features that exist on other versions of Edge (like downloads or browser extensions) are not supported on the console version of the browser.

Somebody on reddit said they're going to put it back in soon, and even said that modded saves caused the download feature to be removed from the Xbox version of Microsoft Edge.

You don't reinstall edge from Ms store

You have to use the xbox store from your console.not any webpage

Don't listen to popups

You gotta remember popups can popup anywhere

It's likely spam if you are visiting funny websites

Not everything is supported

If you are trying to open kindle ebooks that would be why

Ebooks require a plugin

Extensions aren't supported

I see, do you still have the old version of the adapter? Because I believe this feature has been removed from this new version.

You might have a extension from your Chrome (if you are using it)

It happens to me and the Rewards extension, this feature does not allow me to use google as a new tab.
