Why did Pins change to Alerts?

Historically, when I press the Xbox button on my Xbox controller, I get a pop-up menu. There are some icons at the top, below that is Home, and then below that there are three options. They have always been Games & Apps, Store, and Pins. I really liked
to go to Pins to switch to games and apps I use often, but which are not in the last 5 apps launched. However, the Pins option has been changed to Alerts, which I never use. Why was this change made, and is there any way to get Pins back? It's inconvenient
to have to go back to the Home screen and then go down to the Pins section, when it used to just take 3 quick button presses.

You can pin games and apps but can't pin episodes/series anymore?

It's easy to add pins to the dashboard. Press the "start" button and select pin to home. Then press the guide button. Select pins. Then select add pins to home.

Now my problem is why can't I pin an episode anymore? It was really nice feature to have. Like Crunchyroll I would have shortcuts direct to anime series. They are now gone and can't be added back. I even unpin then repin and nothing changes.

The reason I ask is in the past if you did this it would change your Gamertags PIN and then all of the DLC and saves were null unless you hacked them to the new PIN.. Are you absolutely sure?

They've moved the pins under the "My Games & Apps" option on the guide. When you press the Xbox button, just navigate down one click to My Games & Apps and press "A" and that will reveal your pins.
