    Why did my Xbox Series S factory reset after I accidentally unplugged it


    I was in the middle of a Fortnite game and my foot hit the cord and unplugged the Xbox. When I started it back up, it was on the same screen that popped up when i turned on the Xbox after first getting it. I had to log on again and redo all the settings. Luckily my games stayed and didn't need to be redownloaded. Any suggestions to keep this from happening again?

    If your console is forced to shut down, like a sudden power outage, this may happen.

    The only to prevent this is using a no-break, which will keep it connected in case of an outage and avoid accidents like it happened with you.

    yes both Controller and console and New update on with of old one

    when verifying and it did not work by unplugging powercable being after shut of

    it did like reset when going to Xbox insider i was not able to factory reset after year after using xbox
