Why did my xbox delete my whole game?

I recently downloaded Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. I was playing it for about a week but I needed to download 20 Gb file for the campaign. I downloaded the file and hopped on the game. Everything worked fine. I unplugged the xbox and took it to my house. I plugged it back in and my whole game is missing. My storage said it was at .1% I didn't delete the game but it's all gone. I don't know why it would do this. I tried a reset but keep games and apps and still did no good.

I understand you need help with the game problem.

Are you using an external storage to install the game? And also, is this happening to other games as well?

The game might have been corrupted for some reason and that would require reinstallation. Try reinstalling the game and make sure to install it on the internal storage.

It is quite unusual for your console to have deleted some content itself, does no one else have access to it and was able to delete the content?

You can try this process to see if it can help correct the problem with performance.

Go to Settings>System>Console Information

And restart keeping your games.

Note that the console accounts will be removed, so you will need to have the email and password for each account to log back in.

Your progress, achievements, purchases and other data will remain intact, don't worry about that, you won't lose any data, the only thing you need to do is to log in again.
