Why can't you play fortnite for free?!

Just... Why? many games that support multiplayer ONLY, including fortnite, are playable for free on PS4, Switch, PC, iOS and android. Why not on xbox? Fortnite is a FREE game and is supposed to be played for FREE, but for some reason, microsoft does not
understand it and still force players to buy xbox live gold subscription. Isn't that supposed to be changed? Also there are PAID games that can only be playable in multiplayer, but for some reason, after you buy the game, YOU NEED TO BUY A SUBSCRIPTION TO
PLAY IT? WHAT THE FIRETRUCK?!

Please Microsoft, this has been a problem for a long time, and you still care about money, this has to be changed, ASAP.

I love xbox and will never switch to any other console, but... im thinking of changing my mind, just because of this.

lots of people cheat on xbox, its rife on all platforms, if its digital then someone always finds a way to cheat or glitch. i dont even play BC games anymore as the 360 is just full of crackers (the proper term for hacking) and cheaters. i own all the
platforms and i see it on all of them.

Sorry about it, i understand your frustation, but its not the first time that somebody point that problem here or another website...

Microsoft request a gold subscription to play Fortnite on the console. Maybe it will change in the future, who knows...

im 100% sure this won't happen, until microsoft stops only caring about money, this was a problem for around 10-15 years now, thats ducked.

All console companies, Xbox especially have to change it, just imagine how many players would go back to xbox if it gave multiplayer, for free.

Sorry you're upset. However, all games that require an online multiplayer presence require an active Gold membership. The cost of the membership helps cover upgrades to the service and enforcements for cheaters. This helps make Xbox Online a safer place
for everyone to play.

If you're worried about the cost of Live then perhaps look into the Ultimate Game Pass. It provides not only a Gold membership but also access to all the games available to the Game Pass for both Xbox and PC

You have to consider how many people are using Xbox live and how if Fortnite was free, I'm certain there would be many network issues because of all the traffic. Not many things in life are free, I think we should feel spoiled at how many free options for
entertainment there are out there
