    Why can't you buy backwards compatible games with credits/money on your Microsoft account


    Why is it that if you want to buy a 360 or OG Xbox game on Xbox One you have to provide your credit card info? why can't you purchase these games with the credit/money on your Microsoft account? and further more why is that if you want to download the 360
    games that are free that month in Games with Gold, you have to provide credit card info? That game is free during it time in Games with Gold, so there is no reason to provide any credit card info. It's free. I only ask these questions because not everyone
    is able/willing to provide their credit card info.

    Xbox please fix the buying backward compatibility games bug!!!!!

    You can buy backward compatible games on the Xbox One, you just have to pay for them via Credit Card or PayPal. You just can't use account credit from your Microsoft Account for 360 games, unless you still have a Xbox 360 around.

    Microsoft never implemented that feature after they discontinued Microsoft Points. They removed the option to pay with Microsoft points, but never put the option in to pay with Microsoft credit. Stupid decision in my opinion, as it does hurt sales for
    backward compatible games.

    Also, a payment method is required for free purchases because you still have to complete it like a normal purchase. Since the system doesn't see your Microsoft account balance as a band payment option, it requires a credit card or PayPal to be on file. The
    only way around would be to make the purchase on a 360.

    That is what I do, that's one of the reason I still have my 360. It's just annoying that I can't buy all my games on one system without putting in credit card info, that I don't because credit cards aren't really a thing here in the Netherlands.

    Yes I agree that was a stupid decision. I hope Microsoft fix this in the future.

    Yes I agree that was a stupid decision. I hope Microsoft fix this in the future.
