    Why can't we stream to Windows 10 Pro N in the US?


    I upgraded from Windows 7 Pro N to Windows 10 Pro N, and I cannot stream from my Xbox One to the Xbox app. I was told that to get a regular Windows 10 Pro key I'd have to buy ANOTHER copy of Windows (only another $200!). There doesn't seem to be any answers
    as to why I can't stream other than it's potentially a NTSC vs PAL issue because the N versions of Windows are meant for outside the US. There is nothing wrong with my network, and I am not the only person experiencing this issue. Please advise.

    Why can't we stream to Windows 10 Pro N in the US?

    Hey Emory,

    I assume you have the Xbox app installed and are able to navigate to attempt to connect to your Xbox One? Is the Xbox One just not appearing as a device you can connect to? Have you tried a factory reset of your Xbox One console? And you've verified that
    your console and your PC are on the same network?

    Hey Emory,

    I assume you have the Xbox app installed and are able to navigate to attempt to connect to your Xbox One? Is the Xbox One just not appearing as a device you can connect to? Have you tried a factory reset of your Xbox One console? And you've verified that
    your console and your PC are on the same network?

    Hi, I have recently upgraded my OS from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Pro N.

    I have installed Windows Media Feature Pack - still Xbox app is without streaming options.

    I have also reinstalled Xbox App, with Powershell commands.

    Still looking for help on this. The "Stream" button on my Windows 10 Pro N desktop is not appearing. "Test Streaming" is the only option appearing. Xbox One app is on the latest. I have also uninstalled the app and reinstalled. The funny thing is, I am

    State of Decay 2 PC, can't invite friend, troubleshooting help

    I reinstalled Windows 10 Pro N and still had the same issue. I then installed Windows 10 Pro and the game and game bar app functioned as expected.

    I don't have the patience to trial and error each of the codecs that are missing in the N version of Windows the overlay functionality is dependent on, but the issue seems to be isolated to Windows 10 N. I've never had any trouble with desktop apps and no
    errors were thrown regarding what dependency was missing so I guess I'll just run Pro.
