Why can't we post questions in the support forum?

It says start a new post if you cannot find a answer for your question.

Sooo where exactly do i do post it??

There is no start new post in the support forum and if i reply to a post there, it gets deleted.

I can see and can use my Xbox 360 in the list of devices on my windows 8 computer, I can [PLAY TO] it just fine.

I need another computer in my office so i added a Linksys WRT54G hard wired router to split the internet connection. after its hooked up, i have an internet connection but the XBOX360 device goes offline. plug the rj45 back into my computer directly its
online again. so this means my router in not configured correctly.

I read the post on Linksys WRT54G thread ( http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/...dware/02-routers/linksys/f/3090/t/366527.aspx )

there is so much stuff in that post. What exactly do i need to do to my router?

please move this to the correct area or tell me where to post.

Someone has threatened to have my XBL account banned

In fairness to them, it can't be a great deal of the staff doing that or the forums would be flooded with such posts.

I'm no networking guru and this is not the best place to ask for support help. You found a way to post here, so I can't understand why you can't create a thread in the official support forum.

Go to this link http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/xbox_360_support/f/9.aspx On the right and side of the page, near the top, you should see a link in big green writing
'Add a new post'

If you can't see that link, there must be something wrong with your browser. If you still can't see 'Add a new post' click here to create one in that forum location.

Yeah support tells people to report on the forums which is against the posting rules. Who knows why MS can't tell their support staff the correct procedures. We aren't being hard on ya, just giving you a heads up.

Hey there, TubeLugs! Hopefully I can clear up what happens when threads are locked here on the support side of things.

There are several reasons why a thread would be locked. In the support forums, we lock them if they are not support questions, if they are older posts, or if we are trying to direct other users to a specific thread so that they post in there. Even if they
don't have an answer, the older posts especially have likely been resolved. Most times, before a Support agent locks a thread, we make a post explaining why it is locked. The general discussion forums can have locked threads for different reasons, though.

If you need assistance with a support issue, please do not hesitate to post up a new thread detailing what you're running into and troubleshooting you've completed. This way our community can get you the individual support that works best on the forums.
