Why cant we play multiplayer games without gold

This question gets asked every other week or so. Xbox isn't going to change their stance. Paying for gold helps improve the product, you get gold discounts, four free games a month and every so often free play weekends. Nintendo and sony have paid subscriptions
as well.

I think things work the same anyway on the (ps) you have to pay a subscription for online i think what we have with xbox is excellent we may pay a subscription but moving to the new ultimate game pass all those games plus free games and rewards i think
is awesome value for money

I agree but even in ps4 some games require ps plus to play online

The game is free to play as you haven't paid anything to buy the game. It still uses all the same network infrastructure as any other game on Xbox live so the cost shouldn't be paid by everyone else so those that want to play for free can.

Just my opinion.

The money you spend on paying for Gold is used for more that just giving you the service of online gaming. It is used to maintain the servers, pay the wages of the engineers that keeps it running as smooth as possible.

I am more than willing to pay for my Gold as i know that i will be able to enjoy my gaming as much as possible
