why cant we local chat on any xbox console??

all i am asking is so that i can chat through a headset to the m8 who is sat next to me. why is local chat disabled. i have spent the last 3 weeks or so trying to find a solution to this but i dont think there is one. i play spilt screen gaming mostly. so
me and another friend play games together on the same console. but recently another friend has brought a xbox one so we would like to play with him on the games we normally play eg call of duty but to microsoft' wisdom they have deactivated local chat. this
means for me to hear the guy who is sat next to me while i chat to me other online friend i have to remove one of the earphones.. this is not ideal and im sure there is some kind of device that can allow us to play like this but i cant find it. i have searched
high and low.. microsoft dont seem to be much help either. there new feedback website hasnt even got a link so you can add a new idea anymore!!

if anyone has a solution to this i would love to know im willing to spend money to get a device that can split the chat to the 2 headsets.

Can't chat/game with friend

Everytime my friend sends me a chat invite, i try and join it but it just keep saying "joining chat". I cant connect to him weather it be party chat or a private chat invite.

Also, everytime i send him or he sends me an invite for a game (gears 3, modern warfare 2) it says "failed connection to host". so we cant chat or play games together. anyone know why this is happening?

BOTH of our NAT's are OPEN, and we can both find games by ourselves but we cant join eachother. We both cleared our system cache's, restarted out xboxes and reset our routers, but nothing helped.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

not sure why im banned and cant get any info on why i talk to no one in game chat and only message my friends

 

Out of curiosity have you tried using party chat at all?

On the 360 my partner and I would game split screen and be chatting with friends in a party, this is assuming your friend has his own account.

 

Mrs Azrael and I are in the party together when we play "Diablo III" with our pals online.

But I have to swap my Turtle Beaches for the original Microsoft Headset because of the lack of local chat or I can't hear her very well.

So lack of local chat is not the end of the world but it is a bit of a bother.
