    Why can't the Xbox app just resume a download AUTOMATICALLY when it fails?


    Really, this is just kind of obvious but has been like this since the beginning.

    I get it, sometimes stuff just fails, be it the Xbox servers, the client's own network, etc... but is automatic download resuming too much to ask? Isn't it just plain, old common sense?

    Why do I need to be some kind of download janitor and periodically check if the game is still downloading? Why do I need to hit the resume button
    at all when a download fails instead of the app just resuming it by itself?

    Do you know where you don't have this issue? That's right, while torrenting pirated software (or, generally speaking, on pretty much any modern software involving downloads). This issue would be
    trivial to fix (for example, just have the app itself trying to resume the download every X seconds or so) and would be a great quality of life improvement.

    Just think about it, who likes to leave a game downloading and go about your day just to find out (many hours later, when you are ready to play your brand-new downloaded game) that the download stopped 5 minutes into it (no notification either) and since
    then, the app has just been helplessly twiddling his thumbs?

    Please consider fixing this, or making it optional on the settings or something.

    Cant download Mass Effect Legendary Edition via Gamepass. Error: 0xa3e903ed

    Hi, I'm having trouble with installing the legendary edition of the mass effect trilogy. When I begin the download the EA app opens asking me to sign in. After I sign in to the EA app I check the download on the gamepass app and it keeps on pausing without my input, I try and resume the download by clicking the resume option and the same thing happens again and again, the download just pauses it's self and I can't make any progress with the install.

    Is there any information as to why this is happening? I can download other games on other apps for example steam and Epic just fine but not Gamepass.

    Games Auto-Install?

    Just select the installing game tile and press the menu button and select pause installation. When you wish it to start again, just repeat and select resume installation.

    When you purchase something it does automatically download and install immediately.

    But if these are all part of the pc game library the platform is just pc right?

    I would be fine just using the xbox app but the download speed is just a joke. my internet speed is much faster than 7mbps. I've tried delivery optimisation and repairing the app... nothing works to improve the DL speed on the xbox app.

    Again if I can just resume the download using the microsoft store this would also be a great option but it doesn't for some games.

    Sea of Thieves on the microsoft store only has install on the xbox app option but it appears in the downloads on the microsoft store and from there I can pause the download in the app and then resume it in the store. But with Total War: Warhammer III, it doesn't even show up in downloads, it's on the store and gives the same message to install on the app but then I can't see it on my library in the store (even though it's listed on the store xD)
