Why can’t Starfield be downloaded on Xbox One X

I’ve been playing Starfield on Xbox One X with cloud gaming but I find it to be absolutely terrible. Extremely laggy, constantly interrupted by network problem pop up. I know the issue isn’t my internet and it seems a lot of people are having this problem. Clearly Xbox does not have cloud gaming developed enough to handle such a large, and popular game.

My question is, why do I have to use cloud gaming to play Starfield on Xbox One X. Clearly the game can be played on it, so downloading it should make it run better. If there is an actual reason for this, I would appreciate it if someone could explain it to me.

That game hasn't been released for the One. Just the Series S/X and PC. So it's not available to install on any version of the One. The One's hardware is not powerful enough to natively run the game.

To be honest, it is more or less like mass effect. I have a terabyte tower connected to my xbox one x, why can’t i just buy and download it?

“Oh the processor could malfunction!” How can we cloud game it then?

You can talk smack, but isnt cloud gaming essentially the same thing as downloading the game to an outside memory source, (my tower), and running the data to my xbox allowing better gameplay? I did want to buy the game but couldn’t.

I find it hard to believe the Xbox One X is not powerful enough to run Starfield. Yes Starfield is a very large game, but, unlike other very large space games, in Starfield you do not fly from planet to planet. You simply fast travel everywhere.

Look at Elite Dangerous

Look at No Man’s Sky

They are massive and yet the Xbox One can run them just fine. So what is so special about Starfield that makes it too much for the Xbox One to handle?

No.man sky isn't a live game

You generate worlds procceedually in no.man sky as you go

The world's is the same for everyone and everyone is in that worlds and galaxys.

The Xbox one x is a 12 year old cpu

It only has a recent gpu it us still based on the jaguar cpu with faster memory to make up for performance as mentioned starfield has to load all the other players too which js cpu heavy

If you know anything about the history of no man sky or even read the developers notes

It was never a live game

When it was first released it wss single player and multiplayer wss added later

You could visit billions of planets and they never were thr same no matter how many times you restarted it this was a selling point of the game

The game would just generate new ones

And everytime someone joined your multiplayer game they would be in your instance not theirs

A live game has to be consistent as anyone can go anywhere even fight with you

It’s the same with my series X. Everything is fine on my end. The game either freezes or crashes at least 5 times a play through. I heard Starfield can’t keep up with the graphics that X expects on their end.
