Why cant my friend install MW2?

So I gifted my friend who plays on PC the vault edition of MW2 and when he went to install it, it says "this product cannot be installed on PC". It only told us this after he redeemed it and now I'm unable to do a refund. If COD MW2 is crossplay why isn't he able to install it?

I apologize but if this was purchased on Microsoft Store, it is for Xbox console only which is why your friend was not able to install the game.

The game is indeed cross-platform but the license of the game on PC is not available on Microsoft Store.

I really enjoyed playing Spec Ops on MW2 with my friends, that's why I'm gonna buy MW3.

My friends can still play it i just cant figure out why i cant

i was talking about mw2 and waw i said i cant play black ops because if i play online it freezes. and nobody can helpm me with that either. i can play zombies online and the solo and everything is fine. if i play multi player it freezes. ive installed
and uninstalled a few times, brought the xbox to a friends house to see if it was the connection, swapped games. i just cant figure it out

It seems that your disc is damaged. It might not look so but it seems it is seeing as when you try to install it to your HDD it stops. That happened to me with MW2 so I got my friends disc and installed his to the HDD and played with my broken disc and it
worked fine!
