    Why can’t my child play multiplayer on Minecraft when I’m not signed in on the Xbox


    Someone please help I’m slowly going mad trying to fix this one. I have 2 children with their own consoles and own profiles, I’ve changed the restrictions in parental control to enable multiplayer. This works on every other game they’ve played so far except Minecraft which keeps popping up the error “This Microsoft Account does not have permission to join Multiplayer games.” Which is nonsense as it does as they both can play fortnite and apex legends multiplayer without any issues.

    You need gamepass ultimate

    As gamepass does not carry gold only ultimate or gold does

    Fortnite is f2p that's why they can

    Either profile can play while kn the home console

    Minecraft isnt

    Therefore requires gold

    Got it the ultimate subscription has expired, didn’t realise that f2p allowed you to play multiplayer for free now so had assumed everything was still working properly. Thanks for the help

    To play online multiplayer games an Xbox Live Gold subscription or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is required.

    For games such as Fortnite, Apex, and more free-to-play games it’s not required.

    To check their account subscriptions kindly sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/services.

    Well because you cant

    Not with the why you have it setup

    Assuming your account has gamepass ultimate

    One of your kids console is designated as home console and only one can br at a time this regardless of console as any game system only has one home console with gold or a membership

    The second console can only be a roaming console meaning either one of your kids has to be signed in on your profile to use your membership or you buy one for them

    Only the account holder can roam and only one console can be home for any profile
