    Why can’t I stream to Twitch from my Xbox?


    When I try to stream to Twitch from my Xbox I get the notification “Something went wrong. Try live streaming again in a while.” I stream pretty regularly and it just started last night. The only thing that has changed is I just got a new wireless headset. None of my settings have changed. My internet hasn’t changed. Nothing is wrong with my Twitch account. I was able to log in to my wife’s Xbox and I was able to stream there. I talked to Microsoft support last night and after a lot of troubleshooting she had me clear my MAC address and I was able to stream again. I streamed for about 4 minutes before stopping it because of a separate in-game issue, and when I tried to stream again I got the exact same error message, over and over. I restarted my Xbox and cleared my MAC address and it did not work that time. It’s now the next day and I’m still getting the same error message.

    Cannot stream on mixer with Xbox one x

    well, this is a joke tbh, I’m a twitch streamer, and podcaster, I have my new X, and quite simply, I’m getting these errors every time for the last two days.

    Pissed isn’t the word, I want to play games for my community on the new X, however since Microsoft screwed the twitch App to hell, it’s bassically made the Xbox the worst place to stream games.

    Does anybody actually have a fix for this, because I’m going to back PS4 to stream on twitch.......

    One tiny other point, why Microsoft just can’t allow both Twitch and Mixer to exist and let us make the choice...it’s wrong and I’m telling you now, you are making not want to stream to my community from the Xbox, because right I simply can’t.

    Twitch Streaming on Xbox needs an Option to REMOVE the OVERLAY

    They both use the same overlay, but both apps have different settings. No this images are from the Twitch end. I stream to Twitch, not Mixer. Which is why this is a Microsoft issue, not twitch. It's Microsofts API, hence why the mixer overlay is the
    same.

    • Where are you trying to live stream?
    • How is your streaming set up?

    You can capture while live streaming on Xbox Console.

    You can download and install Xbox Console Companion from the Microsoft Store.

    It will allow you to capture and live stream your Xbox screen on your computer.

    You can also start a Twitch stream directly from your Xbox by navigating to the “Capture and Share” tab on the guide and selecting “Live streaming”.



    You can also live stream with a webcam on your Xbox console by going to Capture & share > Live streaming > Camera options and checking that your camera is set to On.

    Like I said before, it's far from an ideal setup for what you want to do here.
    So I can stream to Twitch perfectly fine but not from my Xbox to my PC? I don't understand why that's the case.
