    It won't let me send any messages, do I need a gold membership or something?

    Why can't I send messages?

    I can't send messages to anyone after the latest update. I tried looking through my privacy setting but nothing was changed. Whenever I message someone on xbox one, it gives me a link saying that I have to change my security info but as soon as I change
    it, I still can't message anyone.

    Why can't I send messages?

    This could be related to reputation, you can check your enforcement history here to see if any enfrocements are in place, preventing communication here:
    https://enforcement.xbox.com/enforcement/showenforcementhistory . If there seems to be no enforcement actions in place, the best next step I could suggest would be to follow
    every step listed here and try sending messages again http://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/xbox-live/cant-send-messages .

    Also if there is an enforcement action, you can apply for a case review most times, instructions on case reviews are available here: https://enforcement.xbox.com/Home/HowTo#sub-topic0-6

    No, its dont. If your profile doesn't banned, then just try to hard-reboot your Xbox: press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to turn it off, then turn it on and sign back in.

    No, you shouldn't need gold for messaging, have you had an enforcement ban? If not power cycle your Xbox, by holding down the power button for 10 seconds.

    Why I can't send messages ?

    So is it saying that when you press your home button and try to go to your messages you get an exclamation point within a triangle? If that's the case most the time it has been an Xbox services issue.

    Another thing could possibly be is that if there is another account on your Xbox that got communication banned then it sometimes will block your communications too. It is an issue no one can fix because no one can notify the XBLEPT because there is no way
    to contact them.
