Why cant I purchase xbox 360 games

suggest looking the game up in a browser, logging
into the site, and attempting to make the purchase and edit your payment instrument when the payment details come up.

On the account payments page it shows details for the card I use when making and purchase on the xbox one and there is only one method.

When I try to buy the 360 game the payment methods I see are not the card mentioned previously instead old paypal accounts which do not show up on the Account Payment page. I have tried to follow the on screen options to add a new method but have been unsuccessful.

You should be able to add and change your payment methods in your Microsoft Account page.

Since none of that worked, and you mention being able to make Xbox 360 game purchases before maybe this might work. You can try and clear your local Xbox 360 files on your Xbox One console, then remove your account from the console. Then go and sign out
of all apps and devices your using your account on. Like Xbox Companion app on PC, Game Pass mobile app, Xbox beta PC, any browsers like Edge, any where your account is signed in. Sign out from it all before you start signing in again anywhere. I mention this,
because it sounds like somewhere your account is syncing old data. So if you sign out of everything this account is signed into then maybe you can refresh the data with a current account cloud sync for all your devices, apps and browsers. Don't remove devices
from you account, just sign out. I find sometimes when normal troubleshooting doens't work, we have to get creative in finding the solution. I understand this might be time consuming, but I don't want to leave you with nothing. Maybe someone else might have
another idea if this doesn't work.

I have tried on browsers both on the Xbox and on other devices and am still not able to change the payment method. Really confused at this point as I have bought xbox 360 games in the past, I have two in my games library, and have never had this problem.
