    Why can't I purchase Minecraft as a gift for a friend?


    I've tried all your automated help garbage. I have funds in my account, I'm signed in, and my payment info is correct. I've tried like 10 times now and it keeps giving me an error; telling me to contact support. But all I get is a list of "community" help pages that basically say something along the lines of "Still can't buy it as a gift after 5 months" with no resolution, or "they told me they'd call me about the issue but never did" or "they called me after 3 days and finally squared things away".

    You guys suck. Microsoft is so greedy and broke that it's trying to outsource it's customer service jobs to its own customers, for no pay! Shameful behavior.

    We're in the same country. I clicked the link that it gave me on the same page that told me something was wrong with the payment processing.

    I searched Amazon for a code and they are "out of stock" for every PC version that isnt $60. How can you be out of stock of a digital voucher? That just doesn't make any sense.

    The person who replied to me before you did suggested I search for digital codes at online retailers, which I did. When I tried to reply to them, the reply wouldn't go through and ended up not being posted. I can see now that the post I was replying to has been deleted? What is going on here? All I want to do is buy the basic version of Minecraft for PC that includes Java and Bedrock for $29.99.

    It's insane that I have to jump through hoops and was never given a number to call at any point to reach support.

    it directed you to contact support, this is not Xbox support this is a consumer forum. No one here has any ability to look at your account or anything to do with money. You'll need to contact Support

    If you and your friend are not in the same country, you will not be able to gift across regions

    Yes, I did all of that and it directed me here, telling me that my payment couldn't be processed but did not tell me why. It gave me an error code and told me to seek help here. I've posted the error code in the OP

    Did you try to buy from the minecraft website?

    1. Navigate to Minecraft.net and select Shop from the top menu.
    2. Select the Game you’d like to purchase.
    3. Click Purchase as a gift and sign into your Microsoft Account if prompted.
    4. Enter the recipient’s email address in the Sending gift to field and enter your name in the Sender name field on the Send Gift screen.
    5. Click Next.
    6. Add a payment method or select an existing one.
    7. Check all the details on the confirmation screen and select Buy as Gift to complete the purchase.

    - Sign in to your Microsoft Account.
    - Click the green "Contact Us" button.
    - Select the support topic and issue that relates the most to your problem.
    - Follow the prompts.
