Why can't I play Starfield on my xbox s?

On my Xbox One S, the store allowed me to purchase Starfield before I knew it couldn't run it. Now I've paid for a game I can't play. Should my money be refunded? the solution to sign up for GamePass and play the game there, and would that have cost me the price of the game as well as the monthly?

Do you have a One S or a Series S? Starfield is not available for the One.

Hi there. I have an Xbox One S and Game Pass Ultimate but it says Starfield is not compatible. I thought I can still play it through the Cloud Gaming service but it doesn't seem to be working.

Starfield isn’t compatible with Xbox One consoles due to the technical limitations. If you have a PC, you can see the hardware and software requirements (minimum and recommended) here:

If you have a Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you can still play the game through Cloud Gaming on your console (or a compatible smartphone, tablet, smart TV, etc in the Game Pass app or at https://xbox.com/play) An internet connection and being in one of the supported countries/regions is required.

The official release date for Starfield is September 6th, but you can play 5 days early on September 1st if you pre-order.
