Why cant I play my pc games that I own, offline?

I am starting to get pretty fed up with the way games work nowadays. I am in the navy so I am out to sea the majority of my time. We dont get wi-fi months at a time. The only thing to do is play games on my laptop during my down time. I could understand if the games I download are on game pass but I payed for the games I am talking about. Is there any reason why I am not allowed to start and play my games without an internet connection? If not then I am probably leaving xbox for good. There should not be a requirement for me to connect to the internet in order for me to play a game I put my money into.

It depends on the game, if the game is capable of offline gaming you can definitely just click "offline permission" on your Microsoft Store App. Then try to play any of your games.

Owning it digitally has no effect on whether or not you can play offline. As long as your console is set as your Home, you can play your games offline.

Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title. You would have to purchase Minecraft for Windows 10 (which is separate from the Minecraft on the One and 360) in order to play it on the PC.

Because they are two seperate games as far as the system is concerned. Relatively few titles grant you both versions.
