Why can't I play my game?

Everytime I try to load up Halo the Master Chief Collection from the Xbox home screen it won't let me. It works on my brothers account, but not on mine. Even though I've played Halo on my account before. Anyone know why this is happening?

According to Xbox support:

"This may mean that someone else owns the game that you’re trying to play, or the service is having a difficult time verifying ownership."

Just a friendly reminder though that there is an issue on Xbox's end wherein they informed us that:

"A small subset of users in the United States may be asked to pay again for a recent purchase. We'll be refunding impacted purchases soon, but if you'd like to request a refund now, visit https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/subscriptio...;

This may be related to your issue.

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I'm sorry to hear about the issue the Xbox One game connectivity to
the game server. Does the issue only happen with a specific game or all games?

I recommend to try the following article:

How to restart or power cycle your Xbox One console
(Disconnect and reconnect your console's power cable)
Test multiplayer connection on Xbox One

Try this and let us know the results.

what is exactly happening? i know that when loading it up sometimes it looks like it has froze when in fact it just takes while when doing the first initial load.

I'm in a similiar situation. I purchased Cions of Vega on March and got an email confirming the purchase. I go to play it and got the "Do you own this game?" message on my Xbox Series X. I tried for a refund though I just wanted the game to work. I received no response from MS about the refund. I looked for a refund status and saw I was declined due to asking for too many refunds this year though this is the 1st one for the year. I called Customer Service and just got a generic, unhelpful response. So to recap I'm out of money I earned because I have a game installed I can't even start and I can't get a refund. Keep in mind I've purchased literally hundreds of digital Xbox games and this has never happened before. I've been a loyal Xbox game since Day 1 in November of 2001 original Xbox launch. Why would MS think I would purchase anymore digital games if I can't trust them to give me what I pay for with MY MONEY?!
