    Why can't I play my game, that I paid you money for, just because your store service is having ...


    I'd love to get an explanation on this one. I paid you for my game(s), in this case NHL 19, which means I should be able to play it whenever I so choose. However, because your store service is offline, apparently I can't play my game.

    Can someone shed some light on this absolutely backwards way of thinking?

    I paid for my game, why aren't you allowing me to play it?

    Unacceptable Outages

    This is ridiculous. I have never paid for a service that is so frequently disrupted. You guys need to get your crap together or give everyone their money back. If I can't play on the one three-day weekend I get, it's really not worth having the service...

    i just renewed my subscription because i can't do nothing with my xbox... (nothing new) I can't even watch my netflix account that I've paid for (that really sucks btw)

    Downloaded a free game and cant play with it because of gold subscription.

    I want a refund, paying to access free service is not something that I approve or getting access to service I already paid for!

    In other word, you are thieves!!!

    Would you mind clarifying what actually happens when you try to play the game?

    Do you get any error codes or error messages?

    We do currently have a service alert for Purchase and content usage which does tend to affect some services. For more info on the service alert and to get notified click here: Xbox Live Service Status | Xbox Live Service Outage

    As per the Microsoft Service agreement:

    "We strive to keep the Services up and running; however, all online services suffer occasional disruptions and outages, and Microsoft is not liable for any disruption or loss you may suffer as a result. In the event of
    an outage, you may not be able to retrieve Your Content or Data that you’ve stored. We recommend that you regularly backup Your Content and Data that you store on the Services or store using Third-Party Apps and Services."

    Exactly! I dont own one disc. I have bought all my games straight from the store just cause its a lot more convienient and i dont have to worry about scratches or them breaking, but now i have to deal with this

    I have three consoles in the house, I've never changed that setting. I've never had a problem with anything until tonight. Clearly, the issue is that MS's store service is tied into the licensing of the games that we purchased, but that's a clear problem
    because we should be allowed full access to our game regardless of their store service.

    When you buy a game you get 2 licenses. 1 is tied to your account and 1 is tied to your Home console. If you're not on your Home console, your account has to be signed into Live so it can verify your license. If you're trying to play offline, or if the
    servers are down, on a system that's not your Home console, you won't be able to because it can't verify your license. That's why I ask.

    We do understand that it's something that we all should get access to no matter what but everything runs online through servers where on occasions online services suffer occasional disruptions and outages.

    It's something that is mentioned in our Microsoft Services Agreement when creating a Microsoft account that it can happen where our services can be affected and cause issues within our gaming experience. It's something we agree upon and unfortunately can't
    do much but wait for our engineers to get this resolved as soon as possible for all of us.

    Currently the service alert has been resolved already. Xbox Live Service Status | Xbox Live Service Outage.

    I recommend to
    power cycle
    your Xbox and try to access your games to make sure it's all good to go.
