    Why can’t I play Minecraft multiplayer? (Parental restrictions)


    I have had this problem for two days now and it all started when I got kicked out of my friends survival world for no reason then I was met with an error message about Parental restrictions on playing multiplayer. I followed the link it gave me (aka.ms/MCMultiplayerHelp) and followed all the steps, I tried to join my friend after all of that then it sent me to a screen to buy Xbox Ultimate to play. The error message saying I have restrictions against playing online still showed up as well. My main question is if I can play Minecraft multiplayer with XBOX GAMEPASS or do I need to have XBOX ULTIMATE?

    You should get the Xbox Live Gold subscription which is 9.99 USD.

    Getting an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will depend on you, it is consist of an Xbox Live Gold subscription, a Game Pass for the Console, a PC Game Pass, and EA Play.

    But with playing online, just the Xbox Live Gold subscription is required.

    We need to have an Xbox Live Gold subscription. If what you have is the Xbox Game Pass for Console, it is a library of games that you can play but will not give you access to online multiplayer.

    Also, it should show Xbox Live Gold subscription as well because that's just what we need to play online.

    Please make sure that what you have is Xbox Live Gold subscription and not Game Pass for Console.

    To play an online multiplayer game you'll need an Xbox Live Gold subscription or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It is required, so once you purchase the Xbox Live Gold subscription you will be able to play the game again with friends.

    That doesn’t make sense to me because when this all started to happen I had Xbox live gold, now I have just gamepass and it’s still happening. Do I need to buy Xbox Live Gold to play or should the gamepass subscription let me play multiplayer? One more thing when I accept an invite from a friend it sends me to the “Choose your plan” screen and doesn’t show Xbox Live Gold it only shows Xbox Ultimate, why is that?
