Why can’t I play hollow knight offline on pc game pass

Hello Jadon, most Game Pass games cannot be played offline because that the game does not belong to you, they belong to the Game Pass catalog, and each time you start a game there has to be communication from your account, with Microsoft servers to see that you have an active subscription and then a communication with the developer's servers.

Some games on Game Pass for PC do not have achievements. Hollow Knight is one of those games, hence why achievements are not unlocking.

Is Hollow Knight a Play Anywhere title? I didn't think there was a PC release that had Xbox achievements.

Searching True Achievements all I see is Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition which isn't a Play Anywhere title: https://www.trueachievements.com/game/Hollow-Knight/achievements

I just tried installing Hollow Knight since it's PC only and it launched the Hollow Knight page on my Xbox App but while on the website it says "INSTALL TO included with Game Pass" in the app it says not available. Oh and also Back 4 Blood is nowhere to be found in my Xbox app.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have a question on Hollow Knight. The reason it wont work on the PC, is you do not have the PC version. Hollow knight is not a play anywhere title so can't be used on both Xbox and PC with same version. To
play on PC you will need to purchase the
PC version.
