Why can't I leave my family group?

We understand that you are having problems leaving your family group. This issue may be caused by a problem or a problem with the technical setup of your account. As family groups without an organizer and at least one other family member will be eliminated. If your parent isn't the only organizer in your family group, you can ask another organizer to delete your account.

Otherwise, you can try to leave the family group by following the steps below:

1. Sign in to your Microsoft account and go to the Family page. Link: Microsoft Family Safety

2. Click the "Leave Family" button.

3. If you receive an error message, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies and then try again.

4. If the issue persists, you can contact the Xbox Live support team for further assistance.

Regarding your issue with accessing multiplayer in Minecraft, you may need to adjust your family group settings (for children/family members, organizing access is only allowed in your account settings for multiplayer online. For more help, you may need help from our live support team),

We understand that you are trying to add your son into your family group and was unable to because he is already part of one. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

Since, you have already performed the steps provided on how to leave a family a member should do. To better isolate the issue, we will be asking few questions:

1. May we ask for the screenshot of the error message? Please conceal any personal information.
   
2. May we ask if your son is signed in here- Microsoft Family Safety, do you somehow recognize the Organizer of the family he was added to?
   
   (If you were unable to locate the Organizer, please scroll down and look for Find your family and scan the QR Code using your mobile phones.)
   
3. Just to confirm, does your son have issues with signing into the account, purchase, screen time limit and play certain games?

I understand, that's exactly why I advised you to create a new family group, to enter this new one and leave the supposed old group, that should solve the problem.

Hello Josef, yes I am part of a family group. There are 3 vertical dots but the only options are to change my profile picture or leave the family group. Thanks
