Why can't I just buy one!?

So... my Xbox One power supply died, again... Now I find out I cannot go on the Microsoft store and buy one and have it express shipped? I have to contact customer service and place an order through them which takes two weeks.

So many games now have temporary events, and I have some weeks I can play and some I cannot because of my schedule. Now I cannot play a temporary event in a game I just bought. Considering how common of an issue this is, I find it troubling that Microsoft
would make it so difficult to get the replacement part in a timely fashion.

This seems designed to pressure loyal customers into adopting the new systems. I was debating dropping the $600+ on an Xbox One X, but this experience has soured my opinion of Microsoft's brand. I have been an Xbox Live Gold Member for 14 (FOURTEEN) years,
and a minor issue such as this, that should be quickly and easily rectified, has no system for it to be, which would make it seem like a deliberate attempt to coerce adoption of the new systems (S and X). It is how simple a fix this should be that really
bothers me.

Now I have to talk to my girlfriend about her day instead of shooting aliens in the face for loot...

Why can't I buy gold?

Once again, I fully expect to be totally ignored. I have been trying to have this problem FIXED since 04/28/18 and I have even done a live chat with support, which was totally USELESS. I have not been able to buy coins since April 28th, 13 DAYS! The advice
I received was to change browsers. NO HELP! This is my last attempt before I delete all Microsoft games and start shopping for an Apple. Every time I try to purchase coins, I get the message that I already own this item so the purchase cannot be made. NO ONE
has been able to tell me why and NO ONE has helped me to buy the coins. Thanks for nothing support. If no help is received in the next 24 hours I am done.

STILL waiting for this problem to be fixed. STILL cannot buy gold, it says I already own it and I DO NOT. Your initial fix allowed one series of purchase attempts to all be approved at one time. Thanks, it damn near broke my bank account since all attempts
that had been declined were instantly routed through my paymen.t method. If at all possible could you just remove the block from the time of fix on and not retroactively. I am on my last attempt to fix this before I give up on Bingo.

Power supplies can only be directly purchased from Microsoft when you submit a repair order. As far as I know, Microsoft has never sold power supplies on their online store.

Another option, I'd check in with your local used video game shops like GameStop, as they sometimes carry genuine Xbox One power supplies for sale.

Ok, you say that you have had a number of power supplies die on you, do you have the power supply plugged into a surge protector? and if so is it a good quality one? I'm not talking about a 10$ from Target or wherever I mean a really good quality one?

I know that Microsoft says you shouldn't plug the Xbox One into a surge protector, but as a lot of people have said on these forums in the past, a surge protector is their to protect your expensive equipment from damage. More than likely Microsoft know
the cheaper surge protectors aren't up to the job and MS knows this, and instead of recommending you to buy a $100 protector, they say don't bother.

 

Seriously, as others have pointed out, there are other available options. And while I'm not about to give you relationship advice, it's your business... I am about to tell that the way I see it, if you'd rather shoot aliens in the face for loot than talk
to your GF... you might consider the fact that there may be more faulty things than a power supply involved. But what do I know? I've only been an XBL member for 13 years and married for 25...
