    Why can't I install anything in the Microsoft Store?


    I've had this problem for about 2 months. but I first notice it when I was on my Xbox app and I couldn't update anything. I thought it might be the app because I've had problems with it before, so I uninstalled the Xbox app and try to reinstall it, but then I couldn't install it back. After that, I tried installing other apps, but nothing would install. It does pop up an Error code: 0x80248014. I also did research on this code and found out it has to do with the update drivers. I have tried fixing it myself with no luck and got in touch with multiple support people from the get help app, but all of them just reinstall Windows 10 and it doesn't fix it. If possible I would like help figuring this out.

    A user posted a solution to a user who had a similar issue:

    "Press Windows Key + X on the keyboard and then select “Command Prompt (Admin)” from the menu.

    Stop the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. To do this, type the following commands at a command prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop cryptSvc

    net stop bits

    net stop msiserver

    Now rename the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folder. You can do this by typing the following commands in the Command Prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.

    ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

    Now, let’s restart the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. Typethe following commands in the Command Prompt for this. Press the ENTER key after you type each command.

    net start wuauserv

    net start cryptSvc

    net start bits

    net start msiserver

    Type Exit in the Command Prompt to close it and then restart the computer.

    Now you may try running the Windows Updates and check if the above steps resolve the issue."

    Thank you for the suggestions, but 1,3, and 4 didn't work, and 2 would only open Cortana with win+ c. Is there anything else we can try?

    par_0511 an Independent Advisor posted a solution to a user who had a similar issue:

    "Method 1:

    - Try to logout and login to the Windows Store and try to install an app again.

    Method 2:

    - Go to Windows Store

    - Press Windows key and C at the same time

    - Open Settings

    - Go to Sync Licenses

    - Restart your PC and try to install an app again.

    Method 3:

    - Go to Settings and run the Windows Store app Troubleshooter and if you cannot find it then you can also download it.

    - Download the Windows Store app Troubleshooter via https://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/4/F...

    - Run the troubleshooter app and check if it detects and problem

    Method 4:

    - Open the Windows Store App

    - Click the Windows Key + X and select Run

    - Type in wsreset.exe

    - Wait for the process to be completed and try the Windows Store again"

    There is currenly an issue with the store at the moment, hence why you can't install anything. Microsoft are aware and are working on a fix.
