Why Can't I get my game chat to work?

My party chat works, but when I go to game chat, nobody can hear me. I've tried restarting my xbox and waiting, and I've tried other things too like updating the controller or changing controllers, I even bought a new headset but nothing seems to work. It originally only affected certain games, but after following some advice of friends and people who had the same issue that managed to fix it. this made it worse, and it kept me from playing on certain DayZ servers.Now It does this for every game I play, from COD to Insurgency Sandstorm,Rust,PubG, Hunt Showdown and DayZ. Nothing anyone has told me helped fix it, And I don't know why it's doing this, but not being able to give call outs or talk to my team is really agitating.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

Check that your privacy settings allow communication with everyone. Press the Xbox button to open the guide and select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy. Select View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer, and then make your changes.

If everything is on "Allow" or set to "Everyone" kindly block all of them then power cycle your console and "Allow" and set to "Everyone" again. This is to refresh your accounts setting.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Iv done the steps you said to take an it still does it on mw2 my mic is not working in game chat on dmz iv tryed everything nothing will work it works in party chat but not game chat it works fine on vandgard just mw2 I can't get mic to work it's getting really annoying

Please try the following steps:

Try updating the wireless controller from https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/controller/update-xbox-wireless-controller here.

If you have a stereo headset adapter, plug it into the bottom of your controller so it can also get updates.
If you're using a stereo headset adapter, plug in a headset (a headset must be plugged in so the adapter will turn on).
Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, select Profile & system > Settings > Devices & streaming > Accessories, and then select the controller you want to update.
On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select “…” to check the firmware version for your controller.
If it says “Update,” select Firmware version, and then follow the steps provided.

Your receiver should work. meaning you can still hear through your headsets. but with no bluetooth support on Xbox One and incompatible chat connector you will not be able to chat or hear chat through your current headsets.

My headset only works in party chat. When I'm playing other games I can see that people are talking but I can't hear them and they can't hear me. It only works in party chat.
