    Why can't I get Minecraft Java for free if I already own Minecraft Bedrock


    A while back I brought a xbox 1 which came with minecraft bedrock. Now I play on pc and on the minecraft launcher I keep getting a pop-up saying that if you own one version, you get the other for free. However, it says that I can play bedrock but it says that I can't play java. Thank You for any help!

    When did you purchased the Java edition? Recently?
    I ask this because the "get the other edition for free" promo was for people who purchased the bedrock edition on PC (no other platform is eligible, I mean. Xbox, Nintendo switch, PS and phone doesn't work)
    Or the Java edition on PC, but before certain date.

    Yes, I already own Minecraft on my previous account. I own both Java and Bedrock edition. I have tried logging into my previous account but it still required me to purchase Minecraft Java Edition for the second time
