    I can't renew my Live membership

    I just get an error, not sure what the code is, but it basically says I can't connect to Xbox Live even though I am already connected to Live. Why Can't I Connect It says Error Even Though My Name Is Up There :(

    Can't use real name Hunter on Xbox Live account? Not allowed phrase?

    When setting up my name on a Xbox live account on my 360 I can't use my real name of Hunter? It says error, not allowed phrase? But if I type in a fake name such as Kate it takes it. Why can't I use Hunter? If I type in Gunter it will take it. I guess I
    just will go with Kate for now. But this is stupid that I can't enter in my real name. I'm not doing any weird characters or spaces. It still won't take it even if I enter my last name with first. But it will take my last alone.

    Well that's not what's happening because it connects fine,it says that there's a matchmaking error but I was toldnthat doesn't matter, I juts can't sign into Xbox live even though I'm connected

    Hey thanks for the detailed step-by-step instructions!

    Unfortunately, with all these changes made in this order, the Xbox can't connect to the internet at all, just like before. After running the network connection test, it says "DNS is not resolving Xbox server names" and to restart the router. Did that and
    got the same error message again. The next tip by the troubleshooter on the Xbox was to set up a manual DNS, how can I do that?

    The NAT type is still listed as strict, even though I'm not even connected to the network.

    BTW: My ISP responded, saying the problem can't be solved from their side and referring me to manually opening ports, which didn't work before.
