Why can't I change my default install location?

• Xbox app and Gaming services version?
  
  • Xbox app > select Profile picture > Settings > About.
    
• Was this working before?
  
• Recent activity or changes made before the issue appeared?
  
• Current version and edition of Windows Installed? (Search for WINVER in Windows search to see this)

Create Folder path:

C:\XBox\Games (First letter depends on the drive you want to install the games)

Create a test profile

Create a local user or administrator account in Windows - Microsoft Support

That issue has been raised several time in the forums. Did you search the forums for possible solutions?

why didn't you give the default install location, at least?

I appreciate your reply.

Resolution 1 in your reply relates to moving the Xbox app and all installed games. I do not want to do that. However, when I looked just to see if this option was available, my D drive was not an option.

Resolution 2 relates to the WindowsApp folder which I would hazard a guess that most people don't have access to, and it would be dangerous to try and rename.

My key problem is that the app doesn't seem to recognize my D drive as a valid location for installing despite never having any problems with the drive and using it on a regular basis, particularly for game software management apps like Steam, Epic, EA, etc.
