    Why can't I add a new account to my xbox?


    I'm currently trying to set up a new account for my father. I get all the way to the point where it asks for a gamertag! I type one in and it just says "can't complete at this time" with an error code. How do I fix this? (I've factory reset the console, did a power cycle) help!

    Test your network connection in the settings. Settings> Network> Network settings> Test network connection. Make sure it's good. If it is, check Xbox updates, Settings> System> updates and downloads and make sure you have the latest update status successful.
    If it is, restart the console from the settings under power and start up and re-add the account.

    Do you have other accounts on your Xbox, if so how many? I ask because thrre is a limit as to how many each Xbox One can hold. The number escapes me at the moment.

    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
    Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
    Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
