Why can I not turn on 50 Hz on my Xbox One S anymore?

Previously, I had the option to allow a refresh rate of 50 Hz enabled on my Xbox One S. I then turned it off, and can no longer turn it back on again. It says that my TV is not capable of it, even though I had it on all the time before, and I know for
a fact that my TV is capable of 120 Hz. Is that only for videos, shows and movies, not games perhaps? Does it have to do with an insufficiant HDMI cable? Was the setting enabled without realizing one of these problems was making it so it could not work, so
when I tried to turn it off and on again, it realized it couldn’t do it? I am concerned, because I hope to be able to use 120 Hz when running certain games on a Series X when it comes out. In case it would help answer the question, I am using the HDMI cable
that came with my Xbox One S, and my TV is a VIZIO V-Series™ 50” Class 4K HDR Smart TV | V505-G9

Do you use 50Hz?

Are we taking about the screen that has options to 'Allow 50Hz' and 'allow 24Hz' tick boxes?

There is only one reason why a 50Hz option exists on Xbox One and this is due to video playback of certain content mostly Cable or Satellite TV set top boxes connected to the Xbox One via the HDMI in connector and some DVD discs.

The option 'Allow 24Hz' will force the console to output at this frequency when playing compatible content such as a Blue-ray movie or DVD. This is because these formats playback at 24 fps and will sync up with the TV correctly.

Also, 50Hz is pretty much limited to Europe, Africa and parts of Asia. For general gaming, you should be at 60Hz and if your TV allows 120Hz then you can select this if you like.

Xbox one s only supports HDR game in UHD 4K2K 60Hz Timing.

As a result, there is a number of of FHD / QHD displays that suppot HDR can't turn on HDR in Xbox one s.

It should also support FUD / QHD HDR for better compatibility.

Suggest xbox developer to consider to support gaming HDR with 1080p @50/60 hz and 1440p @50/50 hz timings.

Additionally, lots of VESA DPM DisplayHDR Displays are 1080P.

2 things: Are you at the right Hz setting (50 or 60?) Like, when I put my stuff at 60Hz, things get torn up. At 50 there is no problem.

And as @irb said; the original xbox one does not support 4k. You would need an xbox one s or x for that.

I found this unique answer to a video audio synch problem. Xbox incorrectly I'd my tv to video fidelity of 50 hz ! This is why the audio is off. As soon as I looked in this area I never thought of looking at because I hooked up HDMI cables everything working.
So I forced it to 24hz then restarted Xbox and picked HDMI auto detect and it correctly picked 60 hz that's the default output for Xbox one. And now matches the game port on my vizio that is 60 hz. All other HDMI ports on my vizio are 30 hz. Thisfixed the
audio and makes perfect sense also. My cable box and all output in the us is 60 hz from what I can tell. The Xbox putting my tv at UK standard of 50 hz causes the out of synch. Problem fixed and I noticed a smoother picture and less judder in Forza or Witcher.

I'm getting a 120 hz monitor and I'm wondering if I can run 120 hz on my xbox one s fortnite. It gives me the option in my settings on my xbox one s but my TV doesn't support 120 hz so I'm buying a monitor. I don't want to buy the

Monitor if I can't run 120hz. And does fortnite have a fps cap where I can't run 120hz?
