why can i not sign in to xbox live

My xbox is not letting me sign in to xbox live but i can sign in on my laptop why is that?

my mate is an xbox god and he will get you in a ight headlock if you dont fix the servers

Currently, there is a service alert out for our Xbox Live Core Services which may make that difficult to do at the moment, so you may want to try troubleshooting
