Why can I not play the same game at the same time on 2 household Xbox's with family sharing?

I have to 2 Xbox's in my household (one for me [Xbox One X], the other for my 2 sons [Xbox One]). I and my oldest have MS & Xbox accounts (his is managed via MS Family and is linked to Xbox). Any game purchases are done through my account and I download them onto theirs and they can play on theirs which is fine. Until recently I haven't wanted to play the same game as them at the same time on both consoles until now. So when I attempt to play the same game, at the same time, it will not allow me to do so and makes me end my session on their console, which kicks them out of the game, and vice versa. So around and around we go. How do I play the same game at the same time on both consoles under the same roof?

Make sure their console is set as your Home and that your account is not set to automatically sign in or that they are not signing into your account to access the games. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox It sounds like they're accessing the games because they have your account signed in, not through the Home setting, so it's kicking you offline because you can't be signed into both at the same time and play.

Since Game sharing is meant for families in the same household and not for friends. I wouldn't advise anyone to sign into anyone else's account. That's a violation of the Xbox TOS. People lose accounts to "friends" all the time or become victims of fraud.
That's why you're not allowed to share outside of your household. There's a lot of misconceptions out there about Game sharing. But advising someone to sign into someone else's account is not allowed at all.

Game sharing is not something that we discuss here. The home Xbox sharing feature is meant to be used by families in the same household not across the internet with friends.

Why would you pay money to NOT be able to play games at the same time as your friends or family.

Do you understand how family sharing was designed to work?

Only 1 person can play at a time?

Are you going to play PAC-MAN for 2 weeks while cousin joe plays HALO5 and then shares it with you. YOU CAN"T PLAY TOGETHER. 1 AT A TIME!
