Why can I not customize my Spartan in Halo Reach?

I just bought Halo Reach recently and I could not customize my spartan. When I go to the armory it would only let me change my emblem or colors, everything else is grayed out. Then after looking at the bottom of the screen it says "Grade and Credit progress
disabled for Temporary and Guest profiles." I am using my main profile to play the game and I cannot switch from a temporary profile.

Is there anyway to fix this? I tried resetting my Xbox One and reinstalling the game but that didn't work.

How do you change armor and stuff on the second player in co-op campaign?

ok heres the deal you cant change the armor in campaign because you are playing as master cheif not some mysterious spartan that just has no info on him that you can see, halo 4 is a continuation from halo 3 halo reach is set before halo one. if you want

Ah. Then maybe you could benefit after all. But then again, why customize a Spartan if not to show them off?

 

My first thought is that you haven't meet the Grade or Credit requirements for that particular item.

Just double check that you are logged in on your account with in the game, and with in the 360 dashboard, you can reach the 360 dashboard by pressing the menu and view buttons on your Xbox One controller at the same time.

 

This. After opening the Xbox 360 guide by pressing the start-/menu-button and select-/back-button on your controller at the same time you are able to change your profile/sign in so that the issue should be solved.

 

I tried signing in my profile through this method but I would receive an error connecting to Xbox Live.

However I finally fixed the sign in issue by changing my by going to System>Network>Advanced Settings and instead of doing it automatically, I assigned both IP and DNS settings manually and now I can customize my Spartan and save my game.
