Why can I not connect to Xbox Live and, when I do, why do I get disconnected?!

Thanks for the extra information. It sounds like you currently have your Xbox 360 wired to the TPLink extender, which is receiving a signal from your Sagemcom, is that correct? (Also, what is the exact model of your Sagemcom?)

Are you able to try connecting your Xbox 360 directly into your Sagemcom to see if you continue to experience the issue? You are currently experiencing a pretty high latency which could be causing the random disconnects. By connecting your Xbox 360 directly
into your network, you may experience a drop in latency which would improve the Xbox Live experience for you.

When I connect it says get help at www.xbox.com/get help

The extender and router are near to each other; the extended feeds in to the router, which is also connected to our set top box and DVD player, that has apps on it. All of these work fine.

I have tried swapping cables round and putting a new cable from the extender to the router. Initially, this seems to have made a difference. I will report back after giving it some time to work.

I'm glad you seem to have figured out a way that works! If running your Xbox 360 console through your Netgear router is working, stick with that! If you continue to experience issues with EA servers, you'll want to reach out to
EA support and see if they have any recommendations for improving connection to their servers.

The above was the status as it connected to Xbox Live. As I have already said, it seems to connect often but disconnects when playing a game and also states 'the EA servers are not available at this time' with depressing regularity.
