Why can I not buy the basic headset in stores?

So of course my xbox one headset broke (this is the second one) I can still hear people but the mic doesnt work. So I go to gamestop, they arent carrying the basic headset anymore, hit up bestbuy they dont even have a spot on the shelf for it. Checked
target nothing. Gamestop advised they have no scheduled shipments of them comping in. I am not buying a $100 headset just to talk to people. All I know is that I have a $100 gift card to best buy, and 2 of my gaming friends have purchased a PS4 now I may
be moving to that system because this is a joke.

PLEASE MAKE A GOOD HEADSET

The Xbox 360 wireless headset was amazing and you could use it for like 1 year so why not make that for the one???? The xbox one wired headset is such a fkn joke i am going to the store to buy my 7th one today LOL. You prob will think by now i would buy
a turtle beach or something like that but i just want a basic headset that i can talk to my friends on . This is just a joke that you sell us this *** product .

 

Any rumors of a basic headset being available for the One?

I've heard the stories about how there will be no basic headsets, and that people will have to buy new gaming sets if they want. Is the Kinect, since it's required, the reason why they aren't making basic headsets anymore? I'm not a fan of having to wear
big cans when I have a great surround system, so if I do end up getting a One at some point, I'd like to be able to use something like they have now. Even if they don't include them, they should at least make them available to purchase.

you can buy the adapter for 25 bucks and use any headset you want with it. The regular headsets that comes with the system sucks to be honest. Pretty much everyone i know had theirs fail in like 6 months.

the cheap headsets for the X1 were better than the ones for the 360, from my experience, but still cheap, you should have just paid a few extra bucks and gotten the stereo head that Upinya Slayin posted, i have a friend with a set and they are actually really
good.

only joke i'm seeing is that you're abandoning your Xbox over a cheap headset.

in what way? i pick one up soon after they released and have been using my Turtle Beach headset with it and haven't had any issues with it.

 

Thanks for the links Upinya, I may try the polk, its not too expensive. I just dont want to spend the money on turtle beaches, but I do hate how cheap these ones were... I wish they would come out with a blue tooth like headset like they had for 360. I
do not use the headsets for the game sound I use it purely for chat while in game, which is why I really dont usually like the full headsets.

 

Try slidding the jack out just a touch and see it that solves your MIC problems.

Often, a cheap input jack, when disconnected often, will wear just enough to make it lose connection when fully inserted. So pull it out ever so slightely and it may solve your problem.

 

I got my turtle beaches for £45 and can use them on all my devices tho you do need the adaptor for the XO. The adaptor allows you to turn down the game sound and only hear chat if you want to tho.

So $100 is too much for a headset but $400 isn't for a new system, not to mention having to spend $50 for PS+ and whatever money on the games you would want. So instead of spending $100. you are prepared to drop over $500? In what world does this make sense?

what sucks about the adapter? I think its great. when i sent in my XO7s for warranty repair, it allowed me to use my PS4 headset (earforce stealth 500p) on my xbox in the meantime and it worked great. I can't use my XO7s on my PS4 though because there is
no way to adjust volume on it. Since the adapter has volume adjust, mixer, and mute I can use any headset with it. not sure why you think it sucks

no problem. there are always good deals on headsets floating around. I do miss the simple wireless one too i had for the 360 sometimes, but it is nice to have audio in the game mixed with chat instead of suing my TV audio. especially since i play late and
don't want to wake up the fiance and kids
