Why can I not add money to my Microsoft account???

I have tried to purchase a Microsoft Gift Card for £10, but it is still just showing as 'pending' in my Microsoft account.

I think if that ends up getting refunded, I think I'll just buy a Roblox gift card for my daughter, and circumvent Microsoft and their bizarro account and billing shenanigans!
