Why aren't we able to pick the hash-tagged number in our Gamertag??

Giving the option to pick the set of 4 numbers has no effect on the already established length of our gamertag's. (15 characters)

And, why would people gripe about choosing the 4 number hashtag, when we are already forced to have it?? If it's a name that's taken, granted, I'll give you that. But that's irrelevant since there are 10,000 possible combinations to choose from, if choosing the specific numbers on the hash-tag were allowed on just 1 set of 4, per name (4 rows, 0000 to 9999; 10^4)

Also, I never said anything about wanting the GT to be longer than 15 characters. I simply wish to choose the the 4 numbers that they force upon our nametag. That's all.

There would not need to be any major overhaul to enable the selection of 4 (#) numbers within our 12-15 character name's, especially since there isn't any sort of increase that requires it. We would only be swapping the pre-picked numbers in and out of our tag's

The suffix is needed to differentiate accounts when more than 1 person has the same gamertag. The numbers are given at random so no two people can have the same number. If you could choose the number then it would lead to multiple accounts having the same tag.

I don't mind having a gamertag that's; Lucky77#7771, if Lucky77#7777 is already taken.

Giving us the choice to choose shouldn't negate our options to pick what we pay for.

Tags are also too short and need to be expanded to add a few more symbols

You are forgetting about the length limit

4 numbers for hashtag and 11 characters for name

As mentioned if you want your name not to have a hashtag pick a unique name or spelling of it.of course noone would.want that as they always wanted their name those was the compromise

People already gripe about the 11 limit and 4 hashtag it's just going to make it worse

You gotta remember xbox still has to remain within thr 15 character limit or require a major overhaul to recognize longer names
